how to go to top of file in vim
Type "gg" in command mode. This brings the cursor to the first line
NOTE:
in linux terminal, open a file with vim like below.
vim file.c
In command mode (press Esc if you are not sure) you can use.
type "gg", then cursor will point to the first line first character in file.c file
